Our Research Goals

Advancing Electrified Mobility to Enable a Sustainable Energy Society

Achieving a sustainable energy society requires the effective use of renewable energy and the widespread adoption of electrified mobility powered by it. SOKEN is dedicated to advancing electrified mobility technologies and developing integrated management systems that coordinate seamlessly with renewable energy sources.

Research Highlights

Electric Drive Systems

At the core of electrified mobility’s driving performance are electric drive systems, composed of inverters and motors.
At SOKEN, we leverage advanced analysis techniques to study internal electric and electromagnetic fields, enhancing the individual performance of inverters and motors. Additionally, we are developing new electric drive system topologies that maximize the synergy between these components.

All-Solid-State Batteries

All-solid-state batteries, composed entirely of solid electrodes and electrolytes, are expected to become the next-generation power source for electric vehicles. These batteries promise higher capacity, greater energy density, and faster charging and discharging capabilities.
SOKEN is working to unlock the full potential of all-solid-state batteries by analyzing the physical and chemical changes that occur within them during operation.
