Our Research Goals
Fuel Cell Systems for a Hydrogen-Powered Future
As demand for sustainable, long-distance transportation solutions grows, fuel cells are gaining attention for their ability to operate without CO₂ emissions. At SOKEN, we conduct comprehensive performance evaluation and refinement of fuel cell systems, from microscopic analysis of fuel cells to stack development and hydrogen supply systems.
Research Highlights
Fuel Cell Internal Combustion Analysis
Understanding the internal phenomena of fuel cells is crucial to balancing durability and performance. One key aspect is efficiently expelling water generated during power production. At SOKEN, we utilize proprietary microscopic analysis technologies to enhance fuel cell performance.
Hydrogen Supply System Analysis
We are committed to enhancing the overall reliability of fuel cell systems, not just the fuel cells themselves but also the hydrogen supply components. For example, when filling a tank with high-pressure hydrogen, shock waves can occur inside, so careful placement of internal sensors is crucial to prevent damage.
Development of Fuel Cells for Small Mobility Applications
Fuel cells with high energy density are gaining attention for extending operation times in small mobility applications like drones. We are actively developing and testing a new generation of fuel cells that are more compact and lightweight than conventional models, contributing to the realization of a carbon-neutral society.
